My Top 5 2021 New Brunswick Travel Bucket List

I think we can all agree that 2020 was a messed up year, and while we don’t know what 2021 holds in terms of being able to travel (it’s looking like we may get the Atlantic Bubble again- yay), I can’t help but think of all the things I want to do this Summer. My son will be turning 7 in April, and we can’t wait to do some exploring once the weather warms up. It won’t come as a surprise, but everything on my list is ocean related- what can I say? It calls to me.

Here is our 2021 New Brunswick Travel Bucket List:

1- The Hopewell Rocks

I’ve been to The Hopewell Rocks many times over the years, but I haven’t taken Mason yet! I would love to take Mason & our beagle Jasper on a Hopewell Rocks adventure this year. If you go, remember to check the website for the tide chart to make sure the tide is out during your visit.

2- The Huntsman Marine Science Centre | St.Andrews

Surprisingly I’ve never been to St.Andrews before! It’s only an hour and a half away from my house, so I will definitely be taking Mason there this Summer (pandemic depending). We love anything to do with the ocean and ocean life, and I know he would love learning about the different types of ocean life they have there. Don’t forget to check their website ahead of time for any information regarding Covid procedures/ closures.

3- Shediac

This one should be obvious if you know me or have followed me for a while, but we go to Shediac every year, and it will always be on my Summer travel list! We already have our cabin booked for this year. I’ll be doing a lengthy detailed blog post this Summer on ALL of our GO TO places to visit in Shediac and the surrounding area later this Summer!

4-The Bouchtouche Dunes & Boardwalk

We took Mason here a few years ago and loved it. It’s only a 20 minute drive from Shediac and such a fun place to explore! We went at the tail end of our trip last time and didn’t stay long, so I’m hoping we can have some more time there this year. He loved searching for sea creatures along the shore and climbing around on the rocks.

5- Caissie Cape

We took a drive down the shoreline to the Caissie Cape area last Summer, and loved it. The entire area is beautiful and we considered renting our cabin here this Summer instead of Shediac (it’s only a 15 minute drive), but ultimately decided we wanted to be right in Shediac this year. We came here in search of sea glass, and although we didn’t find any during that trip, we found lots of pretty shells along the shore. It’s definitely worth the drive if you’re in the Shediac area this Summer!
